Simple and Easy
How to justify an iPad
As a normal person with no tech relating business that brings any monetary profit but at the same time loving all that is related to technology I sometimes have the urge to buy all the new and shiny gadgets that the tech world is releasing. The only issue is, beside the fact that I get to play with the new gadgets there is no other way to justify why I buy them because as far as necessity goes, I don’t need them. I think this is the real situation of most people that love gadgets so I will try to see how can I justify an iPad for myself and hopefully help others in their decision as well, or maybe just confuse others as well as myself.
What does the iPad do?
It does all the things that an iPhone or Android phone can do without being a phone, you can surf the net, watch YouTube, read newspapers and books, play games, listen to music and some basic text editing and lets not forget chatting. The only difference is that it has a 9″ screen that of course comes along with bigger keyboard area to type on.
How can i benefit from it?
It would be more comfortable to read books on when you don’t want the lights on for a hard copy of a book. Could write articles that come in mind late at night and wouldn’t have to turn PC on, easier to check FB and Twitter and good for a quick game while bored or just lazy to do work
iPad and PC usage.
If you are a normal person who doesn’t need Photoshop, heavy text editing or other programs running only on a PC, with the purchase of on iPad you will eliminate the usage of a computer almost 80% of the time. This could be a positive but also a negative side of it that can be debated but when you have a computer that is more than 1000€ you will just feel guilty for not using it.
Price.
In USA the product is expensive but not so much that you can’t afford it, in Europe, in countries where it is legally sold are just a few and the rest of the countries are selling it at round 700€. In a country where the normal salary is 1000-1500€ this gadget is for fan boys and girls, rich people or tech reviewers.
The product is beautiful, the experience of owning one is unique and very furling but for how long? Applications are expensive, although beautiful, the product is easy to use but without a 3G subscription or a Wi-Fi connection it is just a simple gaming platform and eBook reader. If you already own a PSP or Nintendo DS and eBook reader you are already set.
So what makes you buy it and want it?
Maybe the fact that it is a glimpse of the future gadgets.
